Dear CMAA Member,

CMAA and Kopplin & Kuebler, LLC in cooperation with the US Golf Learning Institute (USGLI), have launched a new online training program called the Club Learning Institute (CLI). The CLI is designed to provide club employees, club management and boards with a wide range of essential industry training using Web-based knowledge centers and training modules at their facility.

The first Knowledge Center offering will focus primarily on Risk Management. These modules will help CMAA members reduce the risk associated with having an under-trained staff. It is our belief that by using this program to help develop a highly competent staff, clubs will be able to offer a safer environment to members, guests and employees, limit their risk and ultimately reduce exposures which can lead to lower insurance costs. Some modules in the core offering within the CLI include:

Sexual Harassment (EEOC)
Pool Safety and Liability
Personal Protective Equipment (OSHA)
Hearing Conservation Standard (OSHA)
Hazard Communication (OSHA)
Golf Car Safety
Food Handling Safety
Driver Safety
Alcohol Responsibility and Liability Certification

In the near future, the Club Learning Institute will expand to include additional Knowledge Centers focusing on other key areas of the club operation. These areas will include HR, Member Services, Management, Product & Equipment Training and Board Education and more. By using the educational resources of the CMAA's staff, our corporate partners and other key industry leaders, we intend to expand the curriculum to include a diverse range of important topics. Some of those subjects could include:

Board/Committee Orientations and Governance
Conflict Resolution
Developing People Skills
Business Writing Skills
Managing a Multi-Generational Workforce
Effective Reward and Recognition
Developing Your Employee Handbook
